Lyn Arkwright

Tuya Kha
The 'Half-Peiste'

Ul'dah's Errand Girl - Gladiator

"...What is it?"

About

Tribal Name: Tuya Kha
Gender: Female
Race: Xaela Au Ra
Age: 21
Height: 137 cm
Eyes: Gold
Hair: Black
Relationship: Pan, Poly

Notes

- Her right eye is blind, complimented with a nasty scar. She doesn't like going in-depth about it.
- Small frame deceptively hides her physical strength, and ridiculous appetite.
- Her Xaela tribe name was replaced long ago with one to match a Hyur one, an attempt to fit in better with her environment.
- She has a surprisingly beautiful singing voice, though rarely uses it.

Personality

A bit simpleminded, it's a bit obvious what's on her mind most of the time, if she hasn't flat out said it already. Growing up in Ul'dah she shares many priorities the Ul'dahn would. Her temper is a bit short, especially in combat, quick to go berserk. She isn't the smartest, but not dumb like bricks either, self-teaching can only go so far. Had she remained with her tribe, she would have space to be who she should have been, perhaps gentler, less aggressive. But, those sides of her can only shine under circumstances free of strife or stress, that which her early life had plenty.

Backstory

Walkups/tells are fine

Hooks

- Errand Girl - Lyn likes work, as work gives her gil. She'll be found doing any job around, however odd or simple. Just the mention of a notable reward will be enough to garner her interest, don't be surprise if she suddenly appears out of the blue.- Bloodsands - She's no stranger to the Bloodsands. Though rare, she's been seen participating from time to time, getting the nickname "Half-Peiste" from opponents and spectators alike, as much as she despises it. Though she has a bad reputation there for her violent tendencies in battle, ending many careers and in some cases, lives. She only turns to the coliseum if she's desperate for gil.- Ul'dahn Refugees/Poor - Those taking refuge at Ul'dah may recall the young Xaela orphan raised among them, a rather odd occurance to see in the Thanalans in general. While she had no actual family, she was rather close to many of them within the community, as she ran around doing small chores for her bread.- Higashi - Her mother often traveled to Higashi as she trained in the ways of the Samurai, with a young Lyn always in tow. Despite it being many years since then, there may be some that faintly recognize the child of the promising pupil.- Healers - With the fighting she often gets herself into, whether it be from the Bloodsands or fending off thugs or wildlife, any healer would find her to be a regular. While somewhat a gladiator she does get cheaper treatment, without it, she rather avoid the city's chirurgeons and their hefty fees.

Story

Tuya, a child of the Kha tribe, followed her mother's travels around Higashi and Orthard in her youth as her mother was learning the art of the blade, a Samurai. Though eventually this lead to being confronted with the Empire occupying Doma, and in turn, getting caught between one of the various uprisings against them. In a quick effort to keep her child alive, her mother, Chotan Kha, left her child with the Orl tribe that were fleeing these conflicts, staying behind to ensure their escape. Her mother's fate is left unknown to her.Landing in Eorzea, the supposedly orphaned Tuya followed the Orl as they stumbled into Coerthas, and eventually, the Temple Knights. Due to misconceptions of Au'ra, almost all of the Orl were mass slain immediately, believing them to be Dravanian. Tuya, only armed with a knife her mother bestowed her, drove it into the knight tasked with culling her. The knight reeled to the flesh wound as the swing of their blade was disrupted, missing her vitals and slashing her right eye instead. While her eye was left blind, this gave her the time needed to flee into the wilderness.Starved and alone as she tried to find the nearest city, she ended up traversing the lands all the way to Thanalan, eventually collapsing from exhaustion. She was found by some refugees living outside Ul'dah's walls. Out of pity, they brought the child with them to live amongst the refugees and poor that litter the city. She adopted a new Hyur name to try to better fit in. She grew up to become more of an Ul'dahn than one of from her birthplace, the Steppes. Though now independent, she still struggling to survive, barely making enough to live.
